A visual liturgy for Transgender Day of Remembrance — candlelight in the colors of the transgender flag, with a 30-second silent space built in for reading names. Grief held honestly; the living affirmed explicitly. Original liturgy, expansive language. HD + 4K included, with text and no-text versions. Download it, project it, livestream it, post the recording. No meters. No approvals. English and Spanish.
On Transgender Day of Remembrance, your community says the names out loud — trans lives taken in the past year, remembered by name, with dignity. This video’s job is not to say something over them. It is to hold the room while your community says it.
“Transgender Day of Remembrance” is a visual liturgy built from candlelight in the colors of the transgender flag — light blue, pink, and white glass votives glowing in darkness. At its center is a held, silent space of roughly thirty seconds: a still frame of flag-colored candlelight, no text, no narration, so a pastor or community member can read names — six or sixty — without the video rushing or competing. Then the piece does what this day asks of the church: it turns to the living. “To all our trans and nonbinary kin — you are sacred. You are seen. You belong here — alive, and beloved. We will say your names with joy.”
The liturgy honors chosen names as truth-telling, with no deadnaming logic, no tragedy-only framing of trans life, and no consolation offered before the grief has been named. God is never boxed into gendered language; “made in God’s image” invokes the imago Dei tradition without a fabricated quotation. The colors are deliberate and exact — the flag your community knows, written in glass and, at the turn, in a pre-dawn sky.
Both a text version and a no-text version ship in full HD and 4K. Many communities will project the no-text version and run their own name slides or read aloud — that is exactly what it was built for. Evergreen by design: no year references, no counts, nothing that dates, so it serves this November 20 and every one after — plus vigils and memorial moments at any point in the year.
