Remembrance Day Canada Video

Description

Remembrance Day Canada Video. The Canadian flag fills the sky behind a field of red poppies, with the words We Remember across the center.

A Remembrance Day motion background for progressive and affirming congregations in Canada.

Canada keeps November 11 with the silence at eleven o’clock, wreaths at the National War Memorial in Ottawa, and ceremonies at cenotaphs in towns across the provinces and territories. Many churches hold a service in the days before, turning toward peace and reconciliation, and some read the names of the dead aloud.

The background loops behind that reading, the silence, or the prayers of the people. The artwork asserts only remembrance; what it means is yours to say.

The United Church of Canada publishes worship material for the day. The poppy came into use through In Flanders Fields, written by the Canadian doctor John McCrae.
